Syzygium australe Select is a classic Australian native. It is a compact form of Lilly Pilly with glossy, dark green foliage and new growth is gloriously bronze-tinted. Fluffy white pendulous flowers are produced in mid Summer followed by purplish-red berries. Thrives in an open sunny position but will tolerate part shade. Tolerant of most soil types and conditions and will withstand light frosts once established. Fast growing and responding well to pruning and shaping, this is a great plant for hedging.
